More from South Africa + Spanish Good Deals 23/02/2015

Last Saturday we tasted four new red wines from South Africa – if not new wines, at least new vintages. This coming Saturday we’ll taste two of the new whites that have just arrived. A crisp and mineral sauvignon blanc: its name “Life from Stone” evokes the flintiness that you can associate with Pouilly-Fumé – a good alternative. And an oak-fermented chenin blanc  with both citrus and honey aromas.

We’ll also taste two very good opportunities from Spain: from the appellation Cariñena, one a crianza and the other a reserva.  A red crianza means a minimum of two years before being put on the market, with at least 6 months in small oak casks. A red reserva is at least three years old with a minimum of 12 months in oak. We got a very good deal from our supplier and can offer them both at the same price! Taste them and see which one you prefer!

Also note that Miguel’s good friend the artist Olivier Damien (who did most of the shop’s interior decorating) will be exhibiting his latest work with another artist François Betting at the Galerie Bog’art (18 rue des Bogards – 1000 Brussels) from 27/02 until 03/03.
