Dear world wines and spirits lovers,

Our next Laugh & Learn tasting "Fortified wines : a world tour !"  will be held on Thursday, June 9th, starting around 19:20 at Mig's World Wines !

Fortified wines (port, marsala, madeira, ...) are making a comeback on the scene, with a strong return of vermouth and sherry in cocktail compositions. Mixology ingredients or delicious aperitifs, fortified wines is by definition wines that had a distilled spirit added to it, to stop fermentation, preserve residual sugars and increase the alcohol content of the wine. And although the definition seems simple, each style of fortified wine has its own set of rules which make it distinct. Not always easy to distinguish between them!

 A red wine made from Agiorgitiko with aromas of ripe red and black fruits, with woody notes and hints of vanilla. Luscious and structured.

- Thymiopoulos Vineyards Young Vines Red Xinomavro (2020)

Fruity and juicy red wine made from xinomavro. It has beautiful red berry and herbaceous notes.
