The new school year is fast approaching and it is already this Saturday 27 August that we are resuming the free tastings in shop.

Feeling nostalgic for the Valencian holidays? We suggest two wines on the way back to Belgium:

Fundamentalista (€17.30) - a vintage (almost) 100% Bobal (red). Traditionally vinified and aged in amphora, this once flagship grape variety of the Valencia region (and somewhat forgotten today), offers a beautiful velvety mouthfeel, silky tannins, and a concentration of black fruits reminiscent of the Mediterranean sun. The altitude of the Manchuela plateaus offers an unexpected freshness to this rustic variety. Perfect to accompany the (almost) last barbecues of the season!

We continue on the road and stop before Barcelona, in Terra Alta. The Secrets de Mar white (12€) is a blend of Grenache Blanc x Maccabeu which offers a touch of salinity (thanks to the Mediterranean sea breezes) as well as a nice roundness on white fruits thanks to its maturation on lees. Without pretension, it knows how to slip onto the table to accompany aperitifs and summer starters. In short, a wine for pleasure that reminds us of our holidays.

And good news! September also brings its share of joy: our Laugh & Learn sessions will soon be back. Keep your diaries open, the calendar should be out in the next few days.
