Laugh & Learn 2013

Because of a high demand, we are  resuming our informative and joyful discovery evenings (from 7:15 PM to 9:30 PM) at Mig's  World Wines , 43 chaussée de Charleroi, 1060 Bruxelles. Tel : 02/534 77 03.

To satisfy all requests, we repeat a series of four tastings similar to those given at the end of 2011 :

Thursday February 7 : "Once upon a time..." A history of wine: how it all started, how it conquered the world.

Thursday March 7 : (Sorry, fully booked!!)"Roots": the vineyard. What (varietals), where (geography, soil, climate...) & when (to prune, to harvest...)

Thursday April 18 : (Sorry, fully booked!!)"Bunches in barrels": the work in the winery, wine styles & winemaking.

Thursday May 2 : (Sorry, fully booked!!)"A lovely couple": food  & wine pairing.

Moreover, we'll also start again the series devoted to the various varietals.

Each evening, we'll discuss specific grape varieties in all their worldwide aspects.

Thursday February 14 : (Sorry, fully booked!!) Grapes from Burgundy (Chardonnay, Pinot noir)
Tuesday  March 12 : (Sorry, fully booked!!) Grapes from the Rhône Valley (Marsanne, Roussane, Viognier, Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvèdre)
Tuesday April 23 : (Sorry, fully booked!!) Grapes from Bordeaux (Sémillon, Merlot, Cabernets, Petit Verdot..)

Thursday April 25 : Whisky Tasting Speyside and Highlands by Ray Walker

Thursday May 16 : (Sorry, fully booked!!) The exiled grapes ( Verdelho, Zinfandel, Carménère, Malbec, ...)

Thursday May 23 : (Sorry, fully booked!!) Whisky Tasting World Wiskies by Ray Walker

Tuesday May 28 : (Sorry, fully booked!!) Mediterranean Wines by Patrick Missotten

We do not provide any food (except for bread), but please feel free to bring any finger food you may want to share!

Mig's wants you:

- To enjoy yourselves
- To learn while having fun
- To discover & taste a large variety of world wines (8 per evening)

The eight evenings can be attended separately. If you want to make the most out of it, attending all eight will boost your knowledge!

The evenings will be hosted by Xavier in English, French & Dutch -also in Italian, Spanish & German if needed! (*More info about Xavier further down). The sound of Xavier's laughter is even bigger than his knowledge of languages & wine! You'll be welcome to join in! Smart comments & dumb questions alike will be highly encouraged.

All you need to do is send us an email to book the evenings you have chosen. Numbers are limited to 15 people, on a first come first served basis, so be quick.

We'll send you a confirmation of your reservation and the instructions for payment.

The cost of each evening is 20.00 € per person.

Participants will be offered a 10 % rebate on any wines purchased or ordered that evening.

Please note that any cancellation made within less than 3 days before the tasting will in no way be reimbursed.

(*) Xavier Hérail, 38 years old, 1m85, 92kg, «technicien supérieur en viticulture et œnologie».
After his studies, he was a winemaker in Bordeaux (Château Arnauton, Fronsac)
Back in Belgium in 2004, he worked for a wine guide selecting French wines, gives oenology classes and has been with Mig's World Wines for over 4 years now!
He has been in touch with just about everything in the wine business, and the world wines. He likes to share his passion and have a good laugh!
