New spirits:

The world of whiskies widens at Mig’s with whiskies from Italy and Denmark.

The Puni Distillery is located in Northern Italy, surrounded by the Alps, and takes its name from the river that flows near the spot where it was established in 2010. We selected two malts from their range. The Puni Gold is a rich whisky aged in ex-bourbon barrels: vanilla, mango and pepper. The Puni Alba is a beautifully balanced whisky, aged in Marsala casks and then finished in Islay casks: dark fruits, spices and a hint of peat.

In Denmark, Stauning is beginning to make a name for itself. This distillery was created by nine friends who knew nothing about whisky, but when you taste their drams you can tell they've learned a lot! Every ingredient is locally sourced: the barley and the rye, which are malted on site, but also the water and even the peat. We also selected two whiskies from their range. The Stauning Bastard, a deliciously weird creation, made out of malted barley and malted rye, with a finish in mezcal casks: apricot, spices and a vegetal touch. And the Stauning KAOS: despite the name, it’s a balanced and complex whisky. Notes of smoke, chocolate, toasted nuts, grains, vanilla, and the list goes on.

Our world of rums also widens its range with two “rhums arrangés”: the Rhumantic (!) la Mangue & le Passionné are created in Belgium using a premium rum from Guadeloupe in which quality fresh fruits are infused. Yum!

As you well understand, we depend on the evolution of the pandemic crisis for our capacity to welcome you back at our L&L evenings. However, Patrick tested online zoom spirits tastings before the holidays and they were so successful that he’ll organise more as from October. Stay tuned beginning of September for more details.
